Programs & Services

What we do

Community-based programs focused on wellness, belonging, leadership, and empowerment for 2SLGBTQ+ refugees in Toronto.

Programs

Our program model combines orientation, wellness, economic empowerment, migration navigation, and peer-led community support for racialized 2SLGBTQ+ refugees and newcomers.

  • Orientation Session

Orientation Session is held virtually biweekly to help participants learn about TMT's programs, services, peer supports, and community opportunities.

  • For the Love of Hiking (Outdoor / Hiking)

Building community through nature, retreats (like hiking and Sanctuary North trips), and outdoor healing spaces.

  • Rhythms (Dance & Expression)

Using movement and creative expression as tools for joy, identity, and cultural connection.

  • Rise & Build (Entrepreneurship)

Supporting economic empowerment through skills-building, mentorship, and business development.

  • Safe Passage (Migration Support)

Providing navigation support, referrals, and education for refugee and immigration pathways.

  • Healing in Motion (Wellness)

Culturally responsive mental health supports, peer circles, and wellness programming.

  • Wealth & Worth (Financial Literacy)

Equipping participants with practical tools to build financial stability and independence—budgeting, saving, credit-building, navigating Canadian financial systems, and long-term wealth creation.

  • Community Connect (Peer Support)

Community Connect is a biweekly peer support program creating safe spaces for healing, belonging, wellness, and connection among racialized 2SLGBTQ+ refugees, newcomers, and queer community members.

Volunteer Opportunity – CORE (Creating Opportunities for Refugee Empowerment)

If you are a refugee or newcomer looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity, you can join our CORE program. CORE allows participants to share their time, talents, and lived experiences while building leadership skills, gaining community experience, and supporting others through outreach, events, peer support, and community initiatives.
